A very good example of a rare 1847 Albert Pattern Officers Helmet, Silvered skull decorated with gilt metal floral design of oak and laurel leaves; to the front a helmet plate consisting of a gilt oval plate to the centre VR and title strap with The North Somerset Yeomanry upon it all mounted upon a silver cut hobnail star. Gilt tulip pattern spike and base supports a white over red regimental pattern horsehair plume, with gilt rose boss to the top. To each side are rose head bosses which support a gilt metal chin chain. Original lining present,Front and rear peak is lined with green leather and the sweat band of red morrocco.

Interior showing signs of age with minor damage 7/10
Overall a very fine good and rare helmet that would make a fine addition to any collection.
